He was devastated by 911 and left his comfortable home in California to sleep in the desert and risk his own life he’s a very loyal hard-working and courageous guy please bring him home.

There’s nothing phony about his loyalty. Michael cares about other people more than he cares about himself and he has a passion for his faith.

The Long Story

BRING MICHAEL HOME

Michael Enright came from humble beginnings growing up in the housing projects of the Moss Side/Hulme areas of Manchester, England. In his teenage years, he developed a love for acting and theatre after being chosen for a role in a pantomime. By the age of 16, Michael was already a journeyman actor.

In order to further his ambitions, Michael embarked on a journey to the United States. In the early 80’s he arrived in New York with just a suitcase of clothes and $90 in his pocket.

Michael stayed in youth hostels and worked as a bus boy in a restaurant next to the World Trade Center to make ends meet.

Later moving to Los Angeles, Michael joined Broadway Boxing Gym in Watts, South Central. He boxed for three years under the tutelage of legendary trainer Bill Slayton who also trained world heavyweight champion Ken Norton. Michael fought his way through to the final of the Diamond Belt.

Michael’s philanthropic efforts have been apparent in many outlets. Michael worked as a volunteer for a dog rescue in Los Angeles and also went into young offender jails and ministered to teenagers from troubled backgrounds. He later travelled to volunteer for Mother Teresa’s Nuns in Calcutta, India, where he was lucky enough to meet Mother Teresa one on one in a very special private meeting. It was at this time Michael realized his true calling in life was to serve a higher purpose.

Later in the winter of 94/95 after seeing news of the atrocities committed during the Rwandan genocide Michael was determined to go to Africa to help. Because of the killing there were no civilian flights to Rwanda, so Michael flew to neighboring Nairobi and made his way to Rwanda. Michael met Mother Teresa’s nuns and worked for her missionaries of charity in an Orphanage in Kigali, Rwanda.

After witnessing the horrific attacks of September 11, he made plans to enlist in the American Army to fight Al Qaeda, who had so hurt the country he had fallen in love with. Michael was talked out of it by his friends and it was the biggest regret of his life that he had not served to protect America.

After some time, Michael’s acting career began to take off. Michael starred in movies such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, Knight and Day (with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz), Old Dogs (with John Travolta and Robin Williams) but worked predominantly as a guest star on American shows like CSI, Law and Order, Cold Case, Castle, Marvel’s Agent of Shield and countless other shows.

It was the execution of American journalist James Foley at the hands of an Englishman (Jihadi John) that brought back the strong patriotic emotions Michael had towards America at 9/11  and, so, in the beginning of 2015 he put his acting career on hold and joined the fight against the so-called Islamic State. Seeing reports of the rape and murder of the indigenous Yazidi people was the final straw and cemented Michael’s resolution to help.

Michael had never been in the military and knew that the Kurdish YPG (the army he would join) were outgunned and outnumbered by the better-equipped Islamic State.

The YPG are America’s local ally and the army doing most of the fighting against Islamic State. Michael became highly adept with an AK-47 and apart from one break fought in Syria all the way through to the ‘fall of Raqqa’ in 2017. Raqqa was liberated from the rule of Islamic State by a coalition of Kurdish and Arab militias advised by U.S. Special Forces.

Michael ended up being one of the 3 longest serving Western volunteers the YPG had. Making life long friends with not only many of his own Kurdish soldiers but with some of the American special forces troops who were with him. Michael fought against radical islamic extremism a very long  and hard time, coming close to death many times. God had different plans for Michael and now he wants to go home to the many people in America who love and miss him and to the country he is so grateful and patriotic towards.
